Social media giant Facebook has made a move into the virtual assistant market to compete with current offerings such as Siri and Cortana.  According to Facebook’s VP of messaging products, David Marcus, it won’t take long for users to realise that Facebook’s M can do much more than current digital helpers – for example M is capable of suggesting, and then booking, weekend getaways for users.  Currently M is only available to a few hundred Bay Area Facebook users, but this is set to grow as M’s AI is further developed.
