Hotels are no longer just places to stay: they are experiences to live. One of the ways this has manifested is with conscious consumerism - people want to stay in a place that helps the community around them. Enter concepts like the Good Hotel Amsterdam, a socially conscious hotel that has taken on 100 unemployed locals and is training them for a year in the hospitality sector helping improve individual lives as well as the community it resides in. Through innovating the assumed rules in starting a hotel they have created an impetus in the local around them.
