Italian architect Carlo Ratti wanted to explore whether or not the introduction of digital information into food stores would affect the ways in which people interact with and select their food.  To test this theory Ratti partnered with supermarket chain COOP Italia to create the Future Food Pavilion at Expo Milan 2015 – a fully functioning supermarket where visitors can purchase items with the aid of digital information about the food they are selecting.
