Vend CEO Vaughan Rowsell and Michelle Dickinson, AKA Nanogirl, have received $600,000 from tech-hungry corporates for their initiative OMGTech!, a not-for-profit designed to get kids to stop gaming and start coding. The initiative has come about as corporates become increasingly frustrated with the lack of focus on key tech skills in the NZ education system, thus impacting the availability of skilled employees, forcing firms to look off-shore.
