Re-Leased
Re-Leased
The context
Re-Leased is a New Zealand commercial property and asset management platform serving big portfolios worldwide. They came to us with a clear goal: stop being one of many software providers to the property industry and become the leading brand for the property industry. Their existing brand looked like their category. Corporate stock photography, customer logos, buildings. It could have been insurance, administration software, anything. A great company presenting as a generic one. It's what we think of as a product-led brand before it becomes a brand.
The problem
Most software in the category was built to solve admin, not to make people better at what's particular to their industry. Many of Re-Leased's competitors sprang out of accounting products. Re-Leased came out of being property managers first, and their product helped people not just kill admin but be more profitable and run better businesses. The brand needed to belong to property people, not software buyers. A CFO might sign the contract, but the brand had to live in the world of property.
The strategy
Property management has few clear pathways in. There are few qualifications, and people learn and earn their way up. Re-Leased wanted to standardise what good looks like and help lift people up, through workshops, events, content, certification and a product that nudges people to do the right things. That gave us a simple brand idea: level up the industry. The product makes people better at property management. The brand shows them what good looks like and helps them get there. It's the same play that made Tracksuit more than a dashboard: serve what your users want to achieve in their roles, beyond the product.
The identity
We benchmark deeply, working more like product development than a black box brand reveal: one team, all the information, iterating towards a goal. The work showed Re-Leased shouldn't feel like a developer brand but like infrastructure, alongside names like Notion and Uber, and should hero the people and businesses that use the platform, the way Shopify and Square do.
The sharpest move came from a constraint. Re-Leased owned re-leased.com, hyphen and all, with years of SEO behind it. Rather than chase the clean domain, we turned the hyphen into the brand's signature asset: a step-up device that visually says level up. Around it we built a premium off-white and black language, a level-up stepping up-and-to-the-right storytelling system, motion, characters shaped from building types, and a data visualisation system to make the efficiency story ownable. All delivered as working templates in the tools their team actually uses, not a static PDF of rules.

The outcome
Re-Leased has doubled revenue since we started working together and is now leading its industry. They run global roadshows in partnership with other leaders like PwC, lead the conversation on AI transformation in property, and use the level-up idea in a true way. The brand doesn't just talk about levelling up the industry. It gets the key decision-makers in a room and does it.
